The Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Program has released the call for applications for 2020 Farmer Grant projects. Proposals are due online by 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Farmer Grants provide research funds for commercial farms to explore new ideas in almost any aspect of production, marketing and other topics that influence successful farming in the region. Application materials, including detailed instructions and supporting documents, are posted on the Northeast SARE website.

To provide more information on the program, Northeast SARE is hosting a Farmer Grant webinar on Wednesday, October 23 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Carol Delaney, grant program coordinator, will provide information on program eligibility, how to apply, types of projects SARE funds, allowable expenses and more. She will be joined by Farmer Grant recipient Jordan Kramer of Winnegance Oyster Farm who will share his experience with the grant program. The webinar is free and will be recorded for future viewing.
