Dear Fellow Farmer,

We invite you to take part in a survey of farmers raising grass-fed products in PA.

Do you want to increase the profits on your grass-fed products? Would you like to expand your customer base? Do you wish you could increase your herd size or maybe improve your soil? Are you interested in doing these things while connecting with other farmers and building community?

If your experience has been anything like ours, the COVID-19 outbreak has completely changed the market for your locally raised, grass-fed products. We have seen a tremendous increase in demand for our grass-fed meat. Our businesses are experiencing first-hand the increased interest among consumers in locally grown food because of the disruptions in the supply chain brought on by COVID-19.

But will this movement continue?

We want to come back stronger once the pandemic is over by creating an infrastructure to increase our collective capacity and strengthen the market for locally raised, grass-fed products. Our steering committee is working to create a grass-fed cooperative with the support of Penn State Extension and the Keystone Development Center. Our goal is to ensure a strong market after the pandemic is over.

Please join us in this effort by completing this survey.

As we move forward in the planning process, it is important to know what we can expect in terms of interest and volume. The survey should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. Please complete by July 22, 2020.

You can find the survey here.

We thank you for your time and attention when we know first-hand how busy you are. In cooperation,

Grass-fed Cooperative Steering Committee
